Arts for Kids

RLV OracleArt, Inc. is dedicated to increasing opportunities for children to learn about and become involved in the arts. Since 1998, the RLV Summer Youth Workshop, led by Maggie Miller and Shelley McGrew, has encouraged children from the ages of 4 to 18 to express themselves in music, dance, poetry, drama, film and visual art.

From African drumming and storytelling to creating their own videotaped “soap opera”, children discover the joys of creative expression while realizing actual projects. What makes this workshop all the more exceptional is the fact that it is offered free to children, including those from nearby towns and reservations. The program, which relies on donations and grants, meets the creative and educational needs of a large and diverse group of children who might otherwise not be able to afford such an opportunity for artistic growth and self-fulfilment.
